Happy Birthday, America.
As we reflect again on what it took to launch a country, I’m looking forward to what comes next. We get a chance again to start fresh. One more time, we can renew our pledge of alligiance, not just to an ideal, but to one another. We can look back with grateful hearts for those who have sacrificed so much and so well. We can look forward with hope because there is a common rallying cry for peace and liberty resident in our souls.
Yes, we have important things to work out and vital issues to discuss. But today, as an American citizen, I am proud of us. Let us not give up our loyalty and fidelity. Let us push forward with all our might to make life better for one another and for our children’s children.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
I pledge alligiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God with liberty and justice for all.
